Grace Ann Johnson

Grace Ann Johnson, 70, of Willmar, died unexpectedly Saturday, April 20. Her funeral will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, May 4th at The Harbor, rural Spicer with visitation one hour prior to the service.  Arrangements are with West Central Cremation Service.

Grace Ann Johnson was born July 19, 1953, to Gordon and Gladys (Bauman) Peterson in St. Paul. She graduated from Central High School in 1971. She then went on to Bethel University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in 1975. On April 1, 1978, Grace was united in marriage to Bert Johnson in St. Paul. Grace and Bert then moved to San Diego, CA, for 20 years before making Willmar their home.

Grace was a passionate and well-known potter for 49 years. She operated her own business called The Potter’s Heart. Grace was a gifted musician and enjoyed playing the flute at The Harbor Church.

Grace is survived by her husband, Bert of Willmar; her children, Hanne (Matt) Walter Dushanbe, Tajikistan, Dane (Steph) Johnson of Eden Prairie, Leif (Sarah) Johnson of Gunnison, CO, Isak (Leah) Johnson of Willmar, Lacy (Alex) Elhardt of McLoud, OK, Joey Johnson of Gunnison, CO; 4 grandchildren, Abbie, Ridley, Keely and William. She is further survived by her sisters; Gwen (Rod) Larson of St. Paul, Judy Lustig of Castle Rock, CO.

Grace was preceded in death by her parents.
