Lois Ziller Obituary

Lois Elaine Ziller, 76, of Buffalo Lake, formerly of Willmar, died Saturday, January 20th at Buffalo Lake Health Care Center in Buffalo Lake. Her memorial service will be 11:00 am, Saturday, April 6th at United Methodist Church in Willmar and visitation will be one hour prior to her service at church. Burial will be at Bird Island City Cemetery. Arrangements are with Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar.

Lois Elaine Ziller was born July 17, 1945, to Ervin and Augusta (Kerner) Laffen of Hector. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Catholic Church in Hector. Lois attended school in Bird Island and graduated in 1965. Following graduation, Lois went to x-ray school at Hennepin General Hospital in Minneapolis.

On September 9th, 1967, Lois was united in marriage to Ronald Ziller at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bird Island. To this union two children were born, Steven and Sara. Together they lived in Bird Island until they moved to Willmar in 1974. Lois started her career at Rice Memorial Hospital working with the phone system. She then moved to Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, where she worked for American Family Insurance in phone programming. Lois was president of the user group Mitel. They had her traveling to Canada for training and during her time at Mitel she traveled to London several times to get phone systems up and running.

Lois enjoyed her rides with her late husband Ron, Chinese food, Christmas Eve fondue, making spaghetti and popcorn balls. Lois also enjoyed camping, watching QVC, the Vikings, Twins, and spending time with her sisters, son, and grandchildren.

Lois is survived by her son, Steven of Spencer, Iowa; grandchildren, Natasha, Elizabeth, Madeline and August; sisters, Linda (Dick) Bleck of Waconia, Julie (Jim) Seidl of Bird Island, and Gail (Robert) Henning of Hutchinson; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ron; daughter, Sara, parents; and half-brother, Eugene Heil.
